christmas baking season has officially begun! to kick off i made some christmas tree cupcakes – red velvet cups (using the hummingbird cake days recipe) with green vanilla buttercream frosting, mini m&m baubles and piped yellow white chocolate stars on top. i love christmas! x
i started this blog when i worked as a corporate and managed funds lawyer in wellington, new zealand, to document my long-running love affair with baking and, in particular, cupcakes.
but in march 2012 i left my job as a lawyer and moved to London to work as a cupcake baker and decorator at one of London's first, and definitely London's best, cupcake bakery - so cupcakes won the battle of cupcakes versus contracts!
while i won't be making as many cupcakes 'by night' these days like i used to, while i'm in London i intend to visit as many of London's darling cake shops as i can and so will share my discoveries, and other baking-related adventures, here x
